Welcome Dietrich!

Seriously, it is time to go. 8:30 Thursday morning after having contractions from 2:00 on Wednesday afternoon and no sleep.

Trying to go "natural" by walking the halls, using the birthing ball and "trying" to relax.

Okay, it's time for the epidural. 3:45 Thursday afternoon. (Yes, I did pose, but doesn't Ben look happy??)

Now, I'm feeling pretty good. What was I thinking?? I love my epidural and Jorge--the guy who put it in.

Welcome to the world Dietrich Benjamin! 7:11 pm on Thursday. 7 pounds, 12 ounces and 20 inches long.

Ben got to cut the cord and then a nurse took his picture while he got Dietrich's first handshake. Ben looks quite flushed because he was doing such a great job of helping me push--what a good coach!

Enter most family to watch his first bath--everyone who was in town. Hey, look at me, I'm the one on the bed who just gave birth!! Just kidding.

Football-shaped head... Notice the curly hair!

Here is our new family right after the delivery!

Friday morning after a relatively good night's sleep. Dad's first diaper change! Who wants to be next? Friday everyone came back for another visit. The grandparents did a little shopping since we now know that Dietrich needed blue clothes.

All dressed up and ready to go home! Saturday afternoon...after much waiting to be released!

Finally loaded into the car seat and headed out around 3:45 in the afternoon after a night of many disruptions and little sleep.

The new family headed home--he seemed to like his car seat and riding in the car--not a sound. Dietrich's first time outside! We took a video and gave him a tour of his nursery after getting home before everyone else came over.

Dietrich is such a good boy and really only cries when it's time to eat. He sleeps most of the day and night (so far). He LOVES his swaddle blanket and being held. We are so blessed to have him in our lives and love him so much already. The Lord has truly blessed us.
